Why is it that when you have a crush on someone, it only feels fun when the two of you haven't actually been introduced? I mean, you know that he knows you're alive cause he's seen you a few times, but he doesn't know your name, or anything at all (or so you'd like to think).

You sneak peeks at him when you think he doesn't notice (or at least you hope he doesn't). When he hasn't looked your way for 5 minutes, you deliberately find an excuse to walk right past him, just so he'll notice you're there.

Then one day, you cross each other's paths, and he says "Good morning (insert your name)". Oh, how your heart goes all-a-flutter for the next 10 minutes.

Then the next time you see each other, he actually strikes up a conversation, all friendly-like.

It all goes downhill from there.

Where's the rush? The excitement? The sweaty palms? The I-have-to-get-to-the-cafeteria-cause-he's-usually-there-around-this-time feeling?

All gone.

Is that the difference between it and love? Crushes come fast, hits you hard, and leaves just as quickly? Does love, then, sneak up on you and no matter how much you try to avoid it, it seem to always be there?

Who knows?

I certainly don't.
