What Kind Of Blogger Are You

I was reading up on how to improve one's blog and I came upon this article right here. And it occurred to me that I have no idea what I want my blog to be.

I definitely can't be a "linker", cause I can't keep myself glued to my laptop enough to update myself on the latest and greatest on the Net every minute (which seems to be the rate new things are popping up these days!). And even if I did, I don't update my blog often enough to actually keep everybody else abreast on these things.

If you're a regular here, then you've surely noticed that I don't exactly have a running theme, other than sharing with everybody what it is I do on a daily basis. Some are reviews of the odd things that I deem worthy to be reviewed, some are pictures of events/outing/food that I've gone through. Basically, what you're reading is an online version of what I call my "little notes". Before blogs came about, I used to write whatever it was that I was thinking on pieces of paper, that I leave strewn everywhere (not because I want people to see them, but because I forget where I put them).

I could easily post something over the 200 hundred word mark (which is what the article suggest a "thinker" would do), but what to do I write about? I try to be intelligent (*ahem*) and want to talk about current issues with deep emotion, but I'm not that kind of person. 0_0 I think I may suffer from ADD, a special strain that only occurs whenever I think of anything serious.

Some have really found their place in the world of blogs. They even make good money. Imagine that. All you need is a tool (laptop, desktop, and geez, if you're really mobile you could even use one of those snazzy PDAs) and something to say.

After 2 years of blogging, I've yet to find my niche. Should I be worried? Maybe not.
At the risk of sounding self-placating, I feel that there are more labels that have yet to be named. I don't know what it is either, but I like to think that, with such a diverse concoction of people in the blogosphere (I wonder who coined this word, I think it's very clever), it's not quite fair to lump everybody into only 3 categories. Maybe when these other labels emerge, I might find my own little corner in one of them.

Don't worry about that. I haven't found my blogging niche too! LOL! I guess we'll just blog as we like.. :-P

I think a lot of people look for just one niche, when we all really are multi-faceted multi-taskers with plenty of niches to tuck ourselves into. Because of this, I've divided my own blog into categories... or "niches", I suppose you could say. It seems to work for me!

Best of luck!

You don't need to find your niche, just be comfortable with what you blog...ultimately, it's your baby... :-)

yeah, i'm about two years into blogging and still don't know what my niche is. i think it's partly because my "niche" is always changing :). my interests change and i like to write about my interests. my perspectives on life change and i like to write about those too.

ultimately, i think the best thing to come up with is a formula of what you want your blog to be. for instance, i focus on writing funny and thought-provoking posts, with a little bit of local flair/personal experience thrown in for good measure.
