Update On Sandakan Trip... Finally

Alright.

So I've been a disgrace to the blogging community. I should be ashamed of myself. I've been doing so many things that are worth blogging, but I can't seem to find the time to blog! Hanging out with the family is too much fun and it's taking all of my time! =D

Anyhow, on the first day that I got here, I didn't even have the chance to take pictures! It was already sungkai (or iftar, that time when we break fast). And after that, I was too busy catching up with everybody! 10 months worth of it!

On the second day, my sister and I decided to go to a beauty salon to get a facial. The place is called La Sense, in Tyng Garden, Mile 6. Girls, if you're ever down in Sandakan, and you wanna get pampered, this is the place to go. The place looks good, the people are friendly, and you come out looking and feeling like a new woman. =D Here are a few shots of the place.

Next we have the family barbecue! *drool* We had, lamb chops, chicken chops, some vegetarian lamb chops for my dad, 2 kinds of salad, and a whole lot of love. =D And, I made some home made mayonnaise too. It's been awhile since I made some, so my arm was aching pretty bad by the time we were done. But it was well worth it.

We usually do have a big dinner, and each one is always an event in itself, but a barbecue is always special. We usually have one when someone comes back after being away for a long, long time (YES, ME!), or when someone is going away, or birthdays etc. Yummy. =D

What's a Raya trip update without pictures from the Pasar Ramadhan or Ramadhan Market. I admit, I didn't take that much cause I was near salivating looking at the food that was there. Oddly enough, I didn't get anything, though my brother did. 0_o

This year, my sister and her husband are celebrating Raya with his family over at Bahau, Negeri Sembilan. *sob* So we sent them off at the airport, taking time to snap a few pictures. I guess, we shall have to use the expertise of my brother to photoshop them into our Raya family picture this year. =D

It just so happened, that yesterday we went to Sandakan's wet market. I hadn't been to the new one, mind you, so I was all excited, my camera at the ready. People were looking at me a little weird - cause they're pretty much used to seeing Ummi (my mother) there, and she's a regular at some of their stalls - so I guess they were trying to figure out why I was acting so much like a tourist but looked/sounded like a local. Go figure.

(Taken from the entrance, this is NOT the market, but the building opposite from it)

I am almost jumping out of my skin in excitement! Tomorrow is Raya! I have no illusions of staying with my controlled diet. No. It is definitely chow day tomorrow. We get to visit uncles and aunties and whatnots and share funny little anecdotes. The normal "Wah, bujang bah sudah ni semua anak-anak kamu~" lines will have to be phased out. This can best be done while you're munching on some goody or other. =D Since your mouth is full, all you would have to do is smile sheepishly and nod to acknowledge that yes, you heard. No response required. At this point, quickly turn to a sibling and make conversation. If you're an only child.. well... tough luck. =P

And so our update comes to an end. The next will come tomorrow night hopefully, when my camera is all full of colourful Raya pictures. =D And another while I'm in KK! Massy, remember our date. Whoever is ready, willing and able, please come along as well. Don't worry, Massy won't hurt you. =P
