Don't you just hate it when people take something personally?
You had no intention of demeaning or putting a person down. In fact, all you said was no. And, add to add to that is the fact that you weren't the only saying it. But why is it that the only person given a "dirty look" is you? A little unfair, don't you think?
How do you handle things like this? Personally (no pun intended), I'd have loved to flip the finger. But that would have been childish.
So the only thing I could think of doing without making it seem like a big deal was shut up and carry on with the discussions. Let me tell you, it isn't easy to concentrate on the matters at hand while having homicidal thoughts in the back of your head. I pat myself on the back for accomplishing such a feat.

Whoa, that wasn't an easy job to do! But I guess sometimes keeping silent doesn't make you a loser, in fact, most of the time it keeps you on the winning side!
