I thought after the 2 tags I did previously, one of which was freakishly long, I'd take a few days break. :P
Anyhow, I'd like to tie in this portion of the post to Nick's, where he was practically spouting poetic about his amazement and love for the Mydin store he was at. :P I'd like to continue where he left off and say what an amazing place that store is, though I went to a different one. Now, I love hair accessories, and girls, you'll know what I'm talking about when I say that some of them are so ridiculously priced that they can eat a hole through your wallet. So, I was excited to find a whole pack of scrunchies that only cost RM4.80. That's usually the price of ONE scrunchie. There were 12 in a pack, of assorted colours. Do the math, people. That's 40cents a piece. And don't be fooled into thinking that they're fugly, just because they're cheap. Trust me, they're not (though I'm too lazy to take pictures of them). I am too vain to put anything too far removed from pretty on my person. :P
Right now I'm reading a book by Paolo Coelho titled "Eleven Minutes". I just started on a few chapters and I have to say there's something really compelling in the simplicity of his writings. This is the first book I've read of his, cause I generally don't read stuff from this genre (the coming-of-age-inspirational sort of stuff). But so far so good, and if things get better, I'll probably be a fan and read more of his stuff. :D Will let you know.
Speaking of inspirational, my brother Hadibi send me a link to a video that was posted on YouTube of Randy Pausch, a professor in Carnegie Mellon University who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The video was of his last lecture at the university, which was called Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams. The thing I really liked about it was that it wasn't so much a lecture, but a storytelling. It made me really sit up and listen because I wanted to, not because I knew I had to. Do yourself a favor, and click on that link. I swear, you won't regret it. And if you're worried about nodding off in the middle of the talk, because you really aren't the sort of person who likes to listen to the so called self-help lectures, trust me, you won't. I avoid self-help ANYTHINGS at most costs, and even I enjoyed it. It was real, it was fun, and it was poignant. Try it. :)
Now that I've vented all that seriousness out of me, I'm going to do the stereotypical girl thing and play with my make up. :P

Can you believe it.. I've never been to Mydin!! Is it really cheap there? The stuff?
Must go and visit lah one of these days and stock up on junk food. LOL!
PS: You know that Prof you're talking about? I saw him on Oprah the other day. I cried a river watching his "lecture". Right after, I Googled his name. Turned out he's still alive to this day Praise the Lord!! :D
@Cindy: It's not a place for everyone, let me tell you. Too many people sometimes. But, yeah, stuff there IS cheap.
And I know what you mean! I cried like hell too when I was watching. And the ending gave me goosebumps! Who would have thought of getting goosebumps from a lecture! And yes he is still alive!
Too bad scrunchies are so last decade but for pakai di rumah ok la! hehe... Maybe i should get a pack myself!
I think after you read Eleven Minutes, you'd be a fan of Paolo Coelho. Read 'The Zahir' and of course 'The Alchemist'. Two thumbs up.
That Prof is a true inspiration. I saw him again on Oprah yesterday and was shocked he was still alive because I saw his lecture like monthsss ago! Yesterday's show was about all these inspirational people who have cancer but not let cancer have them.. There was this lady who has stage 4 cancer and lives like she doesnt have it at all! And she looks healthier than me! Haiii.. we really need to change the water we swim in!! :(
I'm glad you liked the video Etch! :D I hope he lives a longer life! We need people like him in this world :D
Oooo I love that talk from the Prof. I actually blogged about a while ago... It's sad, but at the same time it's so beautiful. I honestly aspire to be like him. To just live to the fullest!
Btw, the scrunchies! Very good deal. So the murah! Hehe

Love "Eleven Minutes" by Paulo Coelho. The first book of his that I read was "Veronika Decides to Die" but I think "The Alchemist" and "Eleven Minutes" is truly truly an awakening! :)
I've seen Prof. Pausch's vid too.. It's simply amazing.. And we complain about the littlest things. Inspirational is an understatement. :)
Anyways, enjoy your book and your scrunchies. Might go there one day to check it out!
@Syura: Exactly! To pay so much for things that don't stay in style for long is disturbing.
@Bing: *hug*
@Rozie: True true.
@Mas: *chuckles* Sometimes I hate going there though, cause there are too many people!
Haizum, I'm glad you've seen 'the light' ... LOL! I told you guys Mydin was the BEST :D I'm a lifelong devoted fan of Mr. Mydin and his hypermarts ...
